Hamptonville, NC-- Yadkin County Detectives arrested two people Sunday after responding to a shooting.
According to deputies, a call came in around 10pm about a shooting on Burton Drive in the Hamptoville area of the county. Officers found a man who had been assaulted and shot during a robbery attempt.
After an investigation into the crime, Detectives learned that the the incident was over money owed for unknown items.
After a search of the area, deputies spotted a suspect and arrested him after a foot chase. He is identified as Brandon Tyler Jarrett, 22 of Jonesville. Jarrett is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Robbery with a dangerous weapon, Resisting a Public Officer, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm. He is being held in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $500,000 secure bond.
Officers also arrested and charged Christopher Cody Caudill, 25 of Hamptonville. Caudill is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Aid and Abet Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Larceny of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He is being held in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $500,000 secure bond.
The shooting is still under investigation and an additional arrest is possible, detectives said.
