Officers were called to the inn at 3211 Wilson Dr., Thursday at 9:07 am, after they said they were notified about suspicious activity.
Police said they confronted a man and a woman who rented a room. They believed the two people had a stolen 2007 Toyota SUV from Durham. During that time, the man climbed out the window and fell to the ground before running away. Police captured him on Long Pine Road.
Investigators determined the people rented the room under false pretenses and were wanted for an armed robbery in Winston-Salem.
