Greensboro, NC -- The Lexington-Thomasville area ranked fourth among Micropolitan areas on "Site Selection" magazine's annual Governor's cup.
The results were among 576 areas. According to the Business Journal, the Greensboro-High Point area ranked 7th among "tier two" metros. That includes areas with populations of between 200,000 and 1 million.
The fourth place ranking for the state was a step up for North Carolina which placed 6th last year.
The Thomasville area claimed the top spot in 2011 while the Greensboro-High Point area held steady in the 7th slot.
