Q&A with Rosemary Plybon
What’s the craziest job you have ever had?
When I was a child, I started my own business called Rose’s Bows. I made hair bands with fabric bows on top! I had quite a few of them myself.
What was your best subject in school?
Actually it was math, but in recent years I’ve given that part of my brain a break. Now the calculator is my good friend.
Do you have any pets?
Three – dog, mutt, Lily; cat, fat, Chablis (named after the Lady Chablis from “Midnight In the Garden of Good and Evil” -- I got her when I lived in Savannah); cat, losing weight, Red.
What is your favorite book?
Whatever I’m reading at the time… I get totally into a book and devour it!
Brag a little about your family.
My brother is a marine biologist. He is the director of the Oregon chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, working with volunteers and legislators to keep the beaches and water clean and open to the public. My husband is the most supportive, sweetest man in the world. His last name isn’t Plybon, but he just smiles when people call him Mr. Plybon.
My parents still live in Greensboro; my dad running his own financial business and my mom busy with many volunteer activities. We get together at least once a week to eat together and laugh a lot.
