PRODUCT ASSOCIATE

WFMY News 2 is seeking a full-time Product Associate. Duties include but are not limited to: Information gathering, Web streaming and uploading, and broadcast equipment operation. This position requires computer knowledge and the individual must be a forward thinker to consider newsworthy information and audience interest, as well as understand production equipment and use. This position will support the news product by information gathering, repackaging, and information distribution. Production support will include driving automated cameras and control room duties. Understanding the needs of the show and thinking proactively about production and product is required. This position will support in other areas of production such as: graphics, audio production, dubbing commercials and broadcast equipment operation. WFMY News 2 is a 24/7 live news production environment and hours rotate around live news broadcasts. This environment calls for individuals dedicated to enthusiastic team support. MASTER CONTROL OPERATOR

WFMY News 2 is seeking a full-time Master Control Operator to support our expanding multi-platform, multi-channel distribution environment. A desire to learn, share knowledge, plus genuine excitement about the future of our industry is essential. Candidate should be highly organized, dependable and results oriented establishing individual goals with accountability for achievement of those objectives. Broadcast television master control experience with a thorough understanding of TV operation is necessary. Familiarity with master control and automation operation, monitoring on-air transmissions of local and network broadcasts, local commercial insertion, remote transmitter, tape and server operation, satellite and catch server feed acquisition for use by playback servers. Computer skills are essential. Studio production experience, web streaming and web posting skills are also beneficial. RF ENGINEER

WFMY News 2 seeks Television RF Engineer: Must be reliable, take charge technician with 5 yrs exp maintaining/repairing UHF High Power transmitters, microwave links, tower/transmission facilities and related equipment. Capable of managing a project/crew at tower site, good communication skills, working knowledge of computers/networking, the ability to document equipment installation. Available 24/7 when necessary. ATSC Encoder and PSIP set-up/troubleshooting exp req’d. Knowledge of and compliance with FCC Rules and Regulations. STL/ENG Microwave troubleshooting, MPEG, SDI, Dolby, AES, DVB AS3 and ATSC standards knowledge a must. Some elevator based tower work. Harris transmitters/Flexicoder ATSC encoding a plus. MULTI-MEDIA NEWS PRODUCER

WFMY News 2, the Gannett-owned CBS affiliate in Greensboro, NC has an exciting opportunity for a multimedia news producer. This is an important role in our local information center. Our multimedia news producers develop a vision for their newscast and work with a team of multimedia journalists to carry it out. This position requires strong writing, showcasing and decision making skills. Teamwork and the ability to work under intense deadline pressure are critical. Our multimedia news producers generate content for our on-air, online and mobile products. Candidates should have a degree in Journalism or a related field plus two years of professional experience.
