(KERNERSVILLE, NC) -- Kernersville Police responded to an armed robbery report this morning shortly after midnight.
Employees at the Quality Mart Convenience Store, at 1580 NC 66 South. say that that five male suspects armed with hand guns entered the store and demanded money. Once an undisclosed amount of cash was turned over to the suspects they fled on foot running south from the store.
A K9 unit from the Forsyth Co. Sheriff's Office responded and attempted to track the suspects. The track led to an adjoining apartment complex where it is believed the suspects had a vehicle waiting at which time they left the area in an unknown direction.
The following is a description of the suspects:
One suspect had on a yellow sweatshirt and a black ski mask type toboggan and spoke with a Spanish accent.
The other suspects wore dark hooded sweatshirt and had white "homemade" hoods or face masks obscuring their faces.
All wore gloves and it is not known what race they were.
All the suspects in this incident brandished handguns.
