Greensboro, NC -- Police arrested and charged a man for April 21 the death of his neighbor Friday.

Keith Lafond Walker, 50,  was in an ongoing dispute with his neighbor, 60-year-old Clinton Ballard, before he assaulted him, police say.

Officers found Ballard on April 21 in his living room with blunt force trauma to his head, face and neck. Police say Walker assaulted his neighbor with a hammer, his hands and his feet before running back into his home next door.

Police arrested Walker and charged him with first-degree murder Friday.

He is being held in the Guilford County Jail without bond.

Walker was convicted of second-degree murder in the 1991 death of a 74-year-old man under similar circumstances.

Police are still investigating.
