Bedford, PA-- A western Pennsylvania jury has been picked to hear child rape and other sex charges against a North Carolina evangelist who allegedly had sex with an 11-year-old girl while in southwestern Pennsylvania for a revival meeting.
The Rev. Walter Bradshaw faces charges including Rape of a Child and Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse at a Bedford motel. Defense attorney Thomas Crawford tells The Associated Press that the 63-year-old minister is "not guilty. He didn't do it."
Bradshaw was arrested and has been jailed in Bedford County since December 2010, after the girl reported the incident.
The girl's mother has since pleaded no contest to child endangerment and sentenced to two to five years in prison because authorities say she knew Bradshaw intended to have sex with the girl when she was left at the motel.
The trial is set for Sept. 19.
