Eden, NC-- A man is in jail thanks to an alert neighbor who police said saw him break into a home.
The alleged break-in happened around 11:00am, according to the police report. Police said a neighbor witnessed a man kicking a door at a house on Pitcher Avenue and called police.
When am officer arrived to the location, he found evidence that the carport had been entered by force and he also found the suspect still inside the house. According to the officer, the suspect, Randall Chilton was rummaging through drawers in the home.
Chilton was taken into custody and the homeowner was notified. When Chilton also had items from inside which were identified by the homeowner.
Randall Caleb Chilton was charged with:
Felony Breaking and Entering
Possession of Burglary Tools
He was placed into the Rockingham County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond.
