Wentworth, NC -- A Reidsville man was sentenced to prison for charges stemming from an argument over a bicycle in August, according to the Rockingham County Superior Court.
Samuel Brooks, 30, pled guilty to Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and Possession of a Firearm by a felon Monday.
A Rockingham County Superior Court judge sentenced Brooks to 117 to 153 months in prison.
The charges came after an Aug. 9 argument between Brooks and another man over a bicycle. Brooks told the victim he was going to kill him and shot the victim in the foot with a pistol.
The victim and witnesses later identified Brooks as the shooter.
Prior to this incident, Brooks had been convicted of Selling and Delivering Marijuana, Selling Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Cocaine, Assault on a Government Official, and Assault by Point a Gun.
Rockingham County
