Greensboro, NC-- Monday's Martin Luther King, Jr holiday was once again celebrated as a day of service to the community.

The Greensboro Human Relations Commission held it's annual breakfast which was immediately followed by individuals, organizations and college students doing community volunteer work.

Officers with the Greensboro Police Department also got involved on this holiday. In addition to normal police duties, officers in Northeast Greensboro spend part of the day mentoring dozens of young men. They also teamed with Motivations Barbershop who gave the boys free haircuts.

Officers educated the boys about MLK Jr's legacy and talked to them about self respect and the importance of image.
