Lexington, NC -- Spring is on the way!
At least that's according to Miss Charlotte, a ten-month-old miniature potbellied pig that did not see her shadow in Lexington Thursday morning. They call it GroundHawg's Day because of Lexington's history with barbecue.

A crowd gathered for the big reveal for the 8th annual event.
Lexington Mayor Newell Clark said, "It's a lot of fun. This is great for everyone to come out. We enjoy this and with our tradition with barbeque here in Lexington, it's just natural that we have a GroundHawg's Day."
This was Miss Charlotte's first year making the prediction. Lil' Bit, the pig from past years, has retired.
Each year since 2005, the GroundHawg's Day prediction has called for an early spring.
