Rockingham County, NC -- We're less than a week away from the North Carolina primary. While everyone know the importance of participating in the democratic process, we don't have to tell that to a woman who lives in Rockingham County.
News 2 photojournalist Fred Hall sat down with 99-year-old Nellie Knight-Taylor who has voted in every single election since women earned the right to vote. She said, " We voted early, and we're proud of it. Here I am, 99 years old able to come here, not under God, or somebody to tell me, that I've got to vote this way, or that way. No, I'm free!"
Taylor said she plans to keep voting as long as she's able. "I'm proud to have the opportunity, very proud of it and I'm gonna exercise it as long as I've got sense enough to go."
