Raleigh, NC -- A retired High Point man scratched-off a $5 lottery ticket and won $100,000!

James Douglas said he's happy to be a winner. Douglas bought the ticket Tuesday afternoon from the Pantry Shop on W. English Rd. in High Point.

"I just happened to win -- that's all," he said.

Douglas worked for 35 years building fiberglass boats before he retired in 2006.

What is he going to do with that money? He plans on paying his bills and mortgage with the $68,001 he has won after taxes.

The Super Lucky 7's game started April 24 with five top prizes of $100,000. Douglas beat odds of 1 in 816,000 to win a top prize. Three $100,000 prizes remain unclaimed.

Currently, the NC Education Lottery has raised more than $2.35 billion for education programs statewide.
