Denton -- Barbeque lovers got to eat their fill and help feed the hungry Saturday in Davidson County.
Restaurants throughout the county offered a portion of their proceeds from meals sold to the Pastor's Pantry of Davidson County.
The participating restaurants include: The Barbecue Center-Lexington, Cook's Barbecue-Lexington, Henry James Family Dining-Lexington & Arcadia, Lexington Barbecue-Lexington, Rick's Restaurant-Denton, Smiley's Lexington BBQ-Lexington, Smokey T's BBQ-Thomasville, Smokey Joe's Barbecue-Lexington, Speedy's Barbecue- Lexington, Stamey's Barbecue-Tyro, Tar Heel Q-Yadkin College, The Village Restaurant-Denton.
Pastor's Pantry is a non profit food pantry that targets seniors 60 and above who are facing financial drisis. They provide monthly groceries so that those seniors don't have to choose between food and things like medicine or utilities.
Saturdays "Eat BBQ for Pastor's Pantry" event will help the group in it's mission to distribute nearly 4000 bags of groceries and over 60 ememgency packs each month.
