Sleepharmony Pin Youth Bed
(CPSC)-- Before your child turns in for the night you may want to check their bed and it's not because of bed bugs or monsters.
Tuesday, the Consumer Product Safety Commission and Glideaway have issued a recall on Sleepharmony pink-colored twin-size, metal beds with three pink heart-shaped designs on both the footboard and headboard. The beds come with an assortment of stickers that can be applied to the heart shape design.
Model number for the pink beds is #MB-YPT-R1 and can be found on the box and the instruction sheet that came with the bed. The manufacture date code is located on a yellow label affixed to the inside of the metal side rail and appears as MFG: year/month/day: "MFG: 2013/01/25." The recalled beds were manufactured between December 2011 and May 2013. Black and white models are not part of the recall. Mattresses are not part of the recall.
The beds were sold at furniture and other retail stores nationwide from February 2012 to June 2013 from between $120 to $170.
Why the recall: The surface paint on the pink-colored youth beds contains levels of lead that exceed the limits allowed by law. Anyone who has one of the recalled items should stop using it immediately.
