Be A Hero This Summer!

When 1 in 8 Americans are hungry…when the demand for food assistance grows an alarming 30 percent…when children don't eat because school meals are gone for the summer…we need heroes more than ever.

We need you.

WFMY News 2 challenges you to become a hero in your community by taking part in our Food 2 Families emergency food drive.

Our goal is to fill the shelves at Second Harvest Food Bank which will distribute the food to agencies in 18 counties around the Piedmont Triad. This food drive will have a major impact on reducing hunger in our community and you can play a major role in the drive’s success.

The Big Drop-Off On June 20th

On Saturday, June 20th, we encourage you to be a part of our big collection day. You can bring your donations between 8am-2pm to our pickup locations in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Burlington.

Burlington Square Mall

--- This year we are challenging businesses, schools and other groups help their local community by organizing an internal food drive. Food drives are easy to organize and can help local agencies provide assistance to those in need. Just keep us updated and we will showcase your efforts both on-air and online. Want to take part? --- You can also drop off food while you are out shopping. Collection boxes are set up at Lowes Food stores throughout the Triad and at Forsyth County Harris Teeter stores.
