Hugo Storer doesn't let the loss of a leg keep him from following dreams, and he hold students to same expectations.
Greensboro, NC -- When you see Hugo Storer he looks like the average third grade teacher.
However, Storer walks his talk which become lessons for his students. Because, what you can't see just by looking at Storer, that sets him apart, he is missing a leg.
What many would call a handicap, Storer has turned into, the driving force behind his motivation to teach and play volleyball.
Storer teaches third grade Spanish at Jones Elementary in Guilford County. He is also on the USA Paralympic Volleyball team and coaches volleyball and the Sportsplex in Greensboro.
Storer said he was a college student living in Puerto Rico, his home country, and was injured after being hit by a sleepy driver.
Storer said he has never let that deter him from living his dream. It is a lesson he teaches his students and players.
