A Triad father is able to spend more time with his son thanks to blood transfusions.
Undated -- Thirty-six year-old John Wright has testicular cancer. He says he's taken so many units of blood, he's lost count.
Wright said, "The power is in the blood. and when you get down so low that your oxygen intake, your red blood cell count gets down to where you are not taking in as much as you need to you can die in a hurry."
One of the times his levels were too low, doctors gave him two bags of blood. That day, he came home and was able to play catch with his eight-year-old son. "If it hadn't of been for the people getting out and giving blood and donating, I would have never thrown the first pitch to him in that yard."
