Greensboro, NC -- Certain foods and drinks go hand in hand with Fall.
The Good Morning Show crew tried some Autumn recipes in the News 2 kitchen Tuesday.
Local blogger Cecelia Thompson, who writes the blog "Mod Meals On Mendenhall," stopped by to make recipes.

Spicy & Refreshing Autumn Breakfast Blend
- 1 pound, organic local carrots
- 4 or 5, Granny Smith apples
- 2 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
In a juicer, blend whole apples, carrots and ginger together. Adjust ginger to taste - as it is spicy!
Thompson recommends adding ginger ale to make it an afternoon refresher or adding ginger beer and a splash of run to make it a cocktail.
Crispy Red Curry Chicken Wings
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon, canola oil
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon red curry paste
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon, minced ginger
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon, siracha or "Rooster" sauce (optional heat!)
- 1 lime, halved
- Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Toss the chicken wings in oil, season with salt and pepper and scatter on a large cookie sheet. Bake for 30 minutes or until the wings are crunchy.
Or, fry in a stand-alone fryer.
Meanwhile, melt butter in a small sauté pan on medium high. Add minced garlic, minced ginger and red curry paste. Sauté until aromatic. Turn down the heat, add honey and soy sauce.
Coat the crispy wings in the sauce. Squeeze lime juice on top and garnish with fresh cilantro!
