Burlington, NC -- TS Designs is a custom t-shirt printer and dyer that helps promote industry within the state of North Carolina and the use of eco-friendly practices.
All of the shirts that are printed must meet one of the three criteria; water-based inks, cotton from the United States or cotton that is organic or recycled.
With North Carolina presently being the 3rd largest supplier of cotton in the U.S. there is no shortage of supply. That is why one of their shirts is screen printed with the motto "Dirt to Shirt." The tee was manufactured within the borders of North Carolina and traveled only 750 miles from beginning to end. In comparison a shirt made over seas could travel in excess of 10,000 miles leaving a substantial carbon footprint.
In addition to the practices carried out inside the plant the company applies their beliefs on the outside as well. They have an organic garden that features fruits and vegetable and chickens that lay eggs as well. All of the vegetables, fruits and eggs are available to the employees at no cost.
Company leaders believe they are not only investing in the employees health but also the world in which they do business. It is a model that they call the triple bottom line People, Planet and Profit.
