Guilford County, NC - Along a busy stretch of High Point road sits a small storefront called Soap Is HOPE. HOPE stands for Helping Other People Excel. The primary focus of the business is to make and sell soap, but really it is so much more.
The employees are actually clients of the Psycho Social Rehabilitation program that is run by the non-profit organization Another Chance Community Development Corporation.
Another Chance (CDC) provides individuals within the community with food, utilities, medication, housing, and transportation.
All of the funds generated from the sale of the soaps, and bath salts will go directly back to Another Chance, which ensures they can continue to serve those in need.
So far they have created more than 20 fragrances, with the average price of the "all natural soap" from $1 to $3-dollars.
Their grand opening is November 5th at 10 am. The store is located at 4915-B High Point road. The store will also have a bin to collect non-perishable food for their Second Harvest food bank.
