Whitsett, NC - John Ward of Ward Farms once plowed over acres and acres of tobacco but that all changed three years ago.   He abandoned the cash crop for a new one, grapes.

In addition to the muscadine and scuppernong grapes they also grow soybeans, corn, wheat, and blueberries.  The grapes and berries are turned into juices, ciders, jams, jellies, and spreads.

The products they bottle and jar can be found at all Whole Foods in North Carolina and many mom-and-pop shops throughout the state.

The farm is also home to 5000 hogs that are processed in South Carolina for Carolina Pride products.
