Greensboro, NC - Monday is the first day of school for most students across the Triad, but construction delays at McNair Elementary school have students spending their first day of school at a different location.
Kindergartners and first graders will go to Brightwood Elementary, second graders and students with special needs and English as a special language are attending Jesse Wharton Elementary School, along with third and fourth graders.
Guilford County Schools and parents of students have both expressed frustration over the construction delay.
Second grade parent Warditra Hughes told News 2, "To explain to a second grader that you're going to be going to a school that you have been talked to about for months, it's kind of hard."
Construction on McNair Elementary is scheduled to be finished by the end of October according to Guilford County Schools.
