Mebane, NC -- Sugar Rush is a family owned Alamance county business founded in 2007. The company specializes in gourmet fudge and features over 20 unique flavors.
It all started for Debbie Argetsinger when her husband returned from a business trip from Western Carolina University. At the time he had visited a coffee shop that was selling fudge.
He took the opportunity to brag on his wife's fudge and the shop owner asked for some samples. Debbie obliged and her husband brought the sweet treats back. The shop owner liked the dessert so much that she asked for more.
The goods sell form the mountains to the coast, focusing on areas that tourists tend to frequent. In Boone the fudge can be found at Mast General Store.
