Greensboro, NC -- Hurricane Rita is forcing thousands of Texans out of their homes, and some are finding refuge here in North Carolina.
Chris Roy spent hours in the Houston Airport to get to Greensboro to meet his father-in-law at PTIA.
Roy says while most people are opting to drive out of the evacuation areas, many trying to fly out are also finding themselves stuck.
"Sometime between 3:30am and 5:00am it became chaos, the line at check in was about 2 hours, and the line to get through security was even longer," says Roy.
According to Houston?s mayor many security personnel didn't show up for work at the airport because of the evacuations, causing the wait to reach four to five hours for passengers.
