Washington--Target Corporation, in cooperation with the the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, announced a voluntary recall of a popular child booster seat Wednesday.
The recall affects about 375,000 Circo Child Booster Seats sold at Target stores between 2005 and 2009.
The seat's restraint buckle can open unexpectedly, allowing a child to fall from the chair and be injured.
Target has received 10 reports of booster seat buckle failures, including three reports of bumps and/or bruises that resulted when a child fell forward out of the booster seat, hitting a table or the floor.
The seats affected by the recall are blue with green trim and a white plastic restraint buckle. They attach to an adult chair to boost a child to a table. The boosters were sold exclusively at Target stores for about $13.
Consumers who have purchased the boosters should immediately stop using them and return the seats to any Target store for a full refund.
