Greensboro, N.C. - Someone has spray-painted hate messages all over the Guilford County Republican Headquarters in Greensboro. Police are investigating and trying to determine how and why this happened.
This isn't first time something like this has happened. Back in July, someone wrote - "Klan meets here" on the front the building using a permanent marker.
SLIDESHOW - Guilford Co GOP Headquarters Vandalized
"This is particularly offensive and it really bothers me a lot," Republican Party Special Events Coordinator Mendy Greenwood said.
Guilford County Republican Party Chair Al Bouldin said, "I was angry. No one wants to be slanderously affiliated with such a group as the KKK....I can definitely say there is nobody here who supports the kkk or any of their previous activities. It's just the opposite."
Party leaders discovered the graffiti Sunday afternoon.
"For us, it was very frustrating. The Republican Party... we were actually the abolitionists that fought to make sure slaves were freed," Bouldin said.
Vandals defaced doors, windows, posts and even a campaign sign for mayoral candidate Bill Knight.
"It surprises me. I kind of thought we were beyond all that," Greenwood said.
The Republican Party plans to scrub off or paint over the graffiti on Monday. Then, they'll get back to trying to get their candidates elected.
