Greensboro, NC -- Flat rolled steel processor Coilplus is planning to create 23 new jobs and invest $12.7 million as part of an expansion of their Greensboro facilities.
Coilplus has nine plants throughout the United States and two in Mexico. The facility on Chimney Rock Road currently has 41 employees. The company plans to add new state-of-the-art equipment and will double the square footage of the current plant.
"Our facilities utilize the most modern steel processing techniques so it's important that we have qualified people to operate that equipment," said William Hudson, General Manager of Coilplus. "The excellent workforce available in Guilford County definitely played a role in our decision to expand here in North Carolina. We look forward to future growth here in this state."
Salaries will vary by job function, but the average annual wage for the new jobs will be $42,947, plus benefits. The Guilford County average annual wage is $39,520.
Coilplus received a $50,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund as an incentive to move forward with the expansion project.
