Spartanburg, SC-- Investigators said a customer at a South Carolina Waffle shop pulled a gun and shot one of two men trying to rob the restaurant.

According to WSPA, the shooting took place early Saturday morning inside a Waffle Shop off Interstate 85 in Spartanburg County.

The suspect killed is identified as 19-year-old Dante Lamont Williams of Roebuck, SC. The state coroner said Williams was shot in the head and body.

In a news release, Detectives said when they arrived on the scene, they found the teenager dead on the floor. He was still wearing a ski mask and a 9mm handgun was near his body.

Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright declined to identity the customer, citing concerns for his safety. Authorities said the customer had a concealed weapon permit and tried to hold the two men at gunpoint until officers arrived, but that one suspect began to point his gun at the customer, who then fired shots.

Shortly before midnight Saturday, Investigators from the Sheriff's Office Violent Crime Unit were able to identify and take into custody the second suspect from the Attempted Armed Robbery and Shooting at the Waffle House. Investigators arrested Kenneth Jowan Craig without incident.

Detectives said Craig is the second suspect that was with Williams as they both tried to rob the Waffle House. Craig has been charged with Armed Robbery and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.
