Winston-Salem, NC -- Winston-Salem Police and the SWAT team responded to help US Marshal's with a warrant service at 619 Polo Road.

The US Marshals were trying to arrest James A. Brown, who had been convicted of bank robbery. He was sentenced to 40 months in Pennsylvania then fled the state. Brown refused to leave the residence and the Winston Salem Police Department's SWAT team entered the home to try to find and arrest him.

During the search, the SWAT team deployed a distraction device which started a small fire. Police found Brown, uninjured, and arrested him. He was then turned over to the Marshals custody.

The Winston Salem Fire Department responded and put out the fire.
