Greensboro, NC -- The same system that dumped feet of snow across portions Colorado on Friday will spread rain over the Triad on Saturday.
A warm front extending east from the main area of low pressure will push into the Triad Saturday morning and bring light scattered showers. Meanwhile, temperatures will gradually climb through the 40s and into the lower 50s through early Saturday afternoon.
The warm front will push north of the immediate Triad by early Saturday afternoon and bring a lull in the shower activity. Communities along the North Carolina and Virginia border, however, can expect scattered showers to continue through the middle of the afternoon.
The main area of low pressure will approach the Triad Saturday night and bring widespread showers along with it. While the system has a history of producing heavy snow and some severe weather it will bring nothing more than pockets of moderate to heavy rain at times to the Piedmont of North Carolina.
Rainfall totals across the Piedmont will range from 0.25-0.50 inches with greater amounts possible north and south of the Triad.
Scattered showers will continue through Saturday night and into Sunday morning. Temperatures Sunday morning will start off in the middle 40s, but don't expect much warming through the day as the departing area of low pressure begins to pull in relatively cooler temperatures through Sunday afternoon. High temperatures Sunday will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s.
A few stray showers will remain possible early Sunday morning, but Sunday afternoon will be mainly dry under an overcast sky.
