Wingate, NC-- That smart phone you own maybe smart enough to keep you off the road if you've been drinking.

That's because, a 23 year-old college student at Wingate University has invented what could be the first breathalyzer for smartphones.

Ben Biron told WBTV in Charlotte he calls the app "the Alcohoot."  In his demonstration to the station, Biron said the Alcohoot connects to your smartphone using Bluetooth, and it processes your blood alcohol content.

Biron said the app uses your gender, weight, age and height to determine whether you've had too much to drink.
