Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Steelers have reportedly
agreed to terms with wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery and offensive tackle Trai
Essex.
Both players tweeted their new deals, Cotchery late Wednesday and Essex on
Thursday.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Cotchery's new pact is for two years
and $3 million.
There were no terms available for Essex, who tweeted, "I am ecstatic to
announce that I am back with the @Steelers ! There is no place like
#SteelerNation #EverydayIsABlessing."
Cotchery joined the Steelers for the 2011 season after spending his first
seven years with the New York Jets. He caught 16 passes for 237 yards with two
touchdowns in 13 games last year, adding a 31-yard TD reception in the playoff
loss to Denver.
Essex has spent each of his seven NFL seasons with Pittsburgh, which made him
a third-round pick in the 2005 draft. He started three of the 16 games he
played last season and has started 28 times in 75 games.
