(Winston-Salem, NC) -- Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department were dispatched to the 1900 block of Waughtown Street on a reported assault on female.
Pursuant to the investigation, the officers learned that shortly after midnight, a silver colored minivan was observed stopping in the parking lot of a closed business in the area. The van was described as being a late 1990's to early 2000's model; possibly with front end damage. A witness also reported that the rear doors of the van opened on a hinge, as opposed to sliding.
A Hispanic male and Hispanic female were observed exiting the vehicle and engaging in a verbal altercation in the business parking lot. The male returned to the van and drove out of the area. The female remained in the business parking lot and shortly thereafter, the van was observed returning to the parking lot.
According to the witness, the male proceeded to assault the female and force her into the van. The female reportedly escaped the van and attempted to remove a small child from the rear passenger area of the vehicle. According to the witness, at that time the male accelerated out of the parking lot with the female still inside the rear passenger area of the van.
The male is described as approximately 5'09" to 5'11" in height, weighing approximately 200 pounds with very short "spiked" hair. The male is believed to be between twenty-five (25) and thirty (30) years of age.
The female is described as approximately 5'05" to 5'08" in height, weighing approximately 145 pounds, with shoulder length hair. The female is believed to be between twenty-five (25) and thirty (30) years of age.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division.
