Wilkesboro, NC-- Millwork Products (MWP) which is headquartered in Paducah, Ky., announced today that it is expanding its operations in North Carolina.
MWP's subsidiary Jenkins Millwork LLC, has leased production facilities in Wilkesboro with more than 48,000 square feet. This also means the possibility of more than 50 job openings in various areas of the company, as the expansion proceeds. Sales and distribution of millwork products to a four-state area will begin right away.
MWP President Bob Allen released this statement about the expansion news: "The business models of Jenkins Millwork LLC and Millwork Products, LLC will be very similar," said Allen. "We are a medium size, privately-owned company seeking to partner with other like-minded operators to supply customers in the markets we serve. I've known several of the staff and customers for more than 30 years. We're all going to work together really well."
The Wilkes Economic Development Corporation assisted the company during its search and decision process over the last several months. EDC president Jeff Garstka said, "We are pleased to welcome Jenkins Millwork LLC to Wilkesboro and Wilkes County. This announcement is good news for our local economy as we continue to work towards creating jobs and investment in the County.
