Wake Forest, NC-- A man in North Carolina has been charged in the shooting death of his mother, on Mother's Day.
Friday, Police in Wake Forest, NC told WRAL that they arrested and charged Ricky Arlen Timberlake, 63. Timeberlake is charged with killling Jo Dean Timberlake.
Police found Jo Dean Timberlake, 82, dead of a gunshot wound inside her home on Durham Road around 5 p.m. Sunday. Investigators told the station that Ricky Timberlake was in the home but unresponsive when police arrived.
In its report, Wake Forest police said Timberlake showed "obvious signs of an attempted suicide by overdose." He was taken to WakeMe for treatment.
Neighbors said that Ricky Timberlake lived with and took care of his mother. She was in failing health, was diabetic and had fallen a couple times, they said.
Police haven't released a motive for the murder.
