Greensboro, NC -- An early morning crashed last Thursday killed one person and injured another.
Friday, Greensboro police filed charges against the driver, Dewin M. Alarcon, 20 of Greensboro.
Officers said Alarcon is charged with: Felonly Death by Vehicle, Driving While Impaired, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Careless and Wreckless and No Operator's License.
Alarcon was served warrants on Friday and placed in the Guilford County Jail under a $10,000 bond.
The crash happened near the Sixteenth Street ramp around midnight on Thursday. The area around the crash was closed for hours.
Police said Alarcon was traveling on Highway 29 South when he lost control of the car causing it to run off the road an up an embankment. The vehicle rolled several times after colliding with a guardrail and bridge support. The car came to rest in the outside travel lane of US 29.
The passenger in the car, Arturo Sanchez Alcantara, 21 of Greensboro died at the scene. Police said he was ejected from the car after it crashed.
Alarcon was taken to Cone Hospital for injuries he received from the crash. He was charged after being discharged.
