WALLACE, N.C. (AP) -- Police have arrested a man in the shooting death of a 9-year-old New York boy visiting relatives in Wallace.
Authorities say Meshan Kentay Macmillian is facing charges including first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Police say Macmillian shot 9-year-old Leon Albe Halley III at around 4 p.m. Saturday. The boy's relatives say they were all sitting in the living room when two bullets went through the house.
The family had come down to the area from New York on Friday night. Authorities are still investigating the shooting, and the boy's relatives say they think that it was a drive-by.
