Greensboro, NC-- A Greensboro man who plays basketball for East Carolina University has been cleared of charges filed against him in New York.
On April 30, officers with the US Marshal's Office arrested and charged Shamarr Bowden on behalf of authorities in Rochester, NY.
Bowden was accused of firing a gun in the air at a party on Easter weekend. Rochester Police issued warrants for his arrest on charges of: Possession of a Loaded Weapon and Prohibited Use of a Firearm.
Last week, Bowden received a letter from the District Attorney's Office notifying him that the charges had been dismissed by a Grand Jury. (see pdf attachment)

According to ECU's website Bowden plays guard and is listed as a Junior at the school.
