Greensboro, NC -- A U.S. Federal Court has sentenced an Elkin man in a child pornography case.
The court sentenced Stephen Arthur Robinette, 71, to 18 years in prison followed by lifetime supervised release.
Elkin police and the State Bureau of Investigation began an investigation of Robinette in December 2010. In January 2011, police charged Robinette with four counts of Second-Degree Exploitation of a Minor, and Robinette plead guilty to producing child pornography in March of the same year.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
