Oxford, NC -- No one is exempt from drinking and driving laws; just ask Oxford's fire chief.
Police say Chief Earnest Bess was pulled over in his own vehicle around 2 am Saturday.
Police arrested and charged Bess with Driving While Intoxicated after finding the chief's blood alcohol content was .21 percent -- that's more than twice the legal limit in North Carolina.
Police revoked Bess' license, and the chief is set to appear in court July 2.
He has been Oxford's fire chief since August 2010.
