Dickerson, MD-- It's one thing to spill a glass of milk. But, a truck driver can now claim the distinction of spilling nearly 5,000 gallons of milk.
It happened at about 1:22 p.m., friday afternoon when a tanker carrying milk overturned at Darnestown road near Martinsburg Road in Dickerson, Md.
Investigators said a tanker truck with the capacity to carry 5,000 gallons of milk ended up on its side. The truck also contained about 200 gallons of diesel fuel.
Both the milk and the diesel fuel leaked from the vehicle, officials said.
The driver was not hurt and the EPA was called in to help with the cleanup of the mixture of milk and fuel.
The area was shutdown for most of Friday afternoon.
