Yadkinville Man Charged With Shooting Wife

Yadkinville, NC-- The Yadkin County Sheriff's Office charged a man with shooting his wife more than a month ago.

The shooting happened on May 21 on Styers Mill Road in Yadkin County. Deputies were called to a shooting and found Valorie Allgood with a gunshot to the back of her head.

Allgood's husband, Brian Allgood, became the prime suspect and was found shortly after the investigation in his wrecked car about a mile from the house. Investigators said Allgood had shot himself in the head.

Brian and Valorie Allgood were transported to the hospital and are still recovering from those gunshots.

According to police record, the victim (Valorie Allgood) had an active 50B Domestic Violence Order against Brian Allgood. Records show that Allgood had been served the order. Allgood also had a pending case for Assault on a Female, the victim is also Valorie Allgood.

No additional information was given on Valorie Allgood.

Wednesday, June 14 Detectives charged Brian Leonard Allgood with Attempted First Degree Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Larceny of a Firearm and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

He was placed in the care of North Carolina Department of Correction Safe Keeping due to his injuries. He is under no bond.
