Kernersville NC - Some Kernersville Police Officers had a mid-morning chase after trying to stop a motorcycle that was not displaying a registration plate.

Around 11:19am, some officers on Highway 66 South noticed the motorcyle didn't have a registration plate and attempted to pull it over. According to police, the driver refused to stop and a police chase ensued.

The chase went through the downtown area and ended in the 1000 block of S. Main St. when the motorcycle was involved in a crash. After the collision, officers said the driver ran away from the scene. Police were able to track him across Business I-40 and Old Winston Rd. ending in the Lamshire Development.

After a search, Police found him hiding alongside Business I-40 and arrested him.

The driver was identified as Elton Ivan Robertson of Greensboro. During their investigation, Police learned the motorcycle was reported stolen out of Salisbury, N.C. two years ago.
