Kernersville, NC -- A woman that crashed into railroad work equipment died on Tuesday.
Police said a 92 year-old woman collided with the equipment on the tracks at 1:50 pm. The accident happened at the intersections of NC 66 and East Mountain Street.
Witnesses told police all railroad crossing safety equipment was operating properly when the crash occurred.
The woman was taken to Baptist Hospital where she was later pronouced dead.
The crash is still under investigation by the Kernersville Police Traffic Enforcement Team.
