Winston-Salem, NC-- As America celebrates its 236th birthday, many of of the men and women who keep us safe are overseas still protecting our freedom.
But, on this July 4, 2012, the Triad can thank the more than 100 Soldiers of the North Carolina National Guard's 1452nd Transportation Company who are scheduled to return.
The unit is based out of Winston-Salem, NC.
Wednesday, around 4 p.m. Friends, family and the community are invited to come out to the National Guard Armory at 2000 Silas Creek Pkwy, in Winston-Salem.
You should give a big Triad welcome by waving your flags and saying THANK YOU AND WELCOME HOME!
The 1452nd deployed in July 2011 is returning after a 12-month tour in Afghanistan. The unit was responsible for relocating heavy equipment throughout the region while deployed.
