Surry County, NC-- Emergency workers in Surry County said no one was injured after a storm rolled through this afternoon, but the damage is plenty.
John Shelton with Surry County Emergency Management tells WFMY he estimates there is a 20 mile stretch of damage from Dobson to the CC Camp area. He said the roads that sustained the most damage are Twin Oaks, Snow Hill Church, Highway 68 and Mt. Herman Church Rd.
The damage done was similar to that of straight line winds or microburst hitting the affected areas, according to Shelton.
Although, no one was injured, Shelton said several homes have trees on them and shingles blown off. Some farms had everything from crop damage to barns or agricultural equipment damage.
In Guilford County, almost 4,000 were without power because of storms and damaged circuits in a substation, said a Duke Energy Spokesperson. They are working to have power restored by 7pm
City officials said the following intersections are without stoplights and police are doing traffic detail:

-- W. Friendly/N. Tate
-- W. Friendly/N. Edgeworth
-- W. Friendly/ N. Elm
-- W. Friendly/Westover
-- Sunset Drive/N. Elm
-- N. Eugene/Battleground
