Winston-Salem, NC -- Police are on the lookout for a bear loose near the Winston-Salem city limits.
Officers say the bear was spotted near the 1000 or 1100 block of Ziglar Rd at the north edge of the city.
Police were unable to find the bear. Anyone who sees it should avoid making any contact and call the NC Wildlife Resource Commission at 1-800-662-7137, or police.
Also, if you're in the area, you should get rid of any outside food source around your home as it can attract bears.
Update: Police say another sighting has been reported in the Mallard Lakes Development in the 2000 block of Mallard Lakes Dr.
The bear has not been located.
Police are advising people in the area to secure trash cans and remove any food from pet bowls, bird feeders, and squirrel feeders.
Wildlife experts say bears will generally go back into the wild if food sources become unavailable.
