Elderly Woman Tied Up With Telephone Cord, Robbed After Home Break-In

Burlington, NC-- Police in Burlington said an elderly survived a scare after two men broke into her home early Saturday and tied her up.

Around 1:22am, Police Officers found the victim after being dispatched to a home burglary call in the 200 block of Rader St. Police said they received the initial call through the Lifeline Service at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Police said the 79 year old told them she woke up after hearing her door being forced open. She said two men came in, bound her with telephone cord and stole various guns from the house.

The victim said she was able to press her Lifeline alarm for help.

Investigators said the woman was not seriously injured during the robbery.

While investigating the incident, officers received information that lead them to a house on Albany St. Someone inside gave police permission to search the house and the investigating officers said they saw items reported stolen by the victim.

Everyone in the home was detained and police and applied for a search warrant to do more investigating.

Detectives later executed a search warrant and confiscated various items stolen during the burglary.

As a result of the investigation, officers arrested and charged the following individuals:

Ressy Shajuan Sanford, 17
Charges: Burglary, Kidnapping, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Larceny of a Firearm. Sanford is currently in the Alamance County Jail under a $75,000.00 secured bond.

Jason Antwan Gray, 17
Charges: Burglary, Kidnapping, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapson, Larceny of a Firearm, Poss of Marijuana with Intent to Sell and Deliver and Poss of Marijuana. Gray is currently in the Alamance County Jail under a $70,000.00 secured bond.

WANTED: Travon Deontae Whitted, 22 
Charges: Burglary, Kidnapping, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Larceny of a Firearm. Whitted was not at 405 Albany St at the time of the search warrant. Whitted is not yet in police custody 

Because officers found marijuana at the home during the search warrant, the following individuals were charged ONLY with Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana:

Samantha Stroud 
Snow Camp. $800.00 Secured Bond.

Brandy Danielle Cain 
$800.00 Secured Bond.

Justin Omaro Corbett 
$1,200.00 Secured Bond

Octavia Lavare Sanford
$1,000.00 Secured Bond.
